Maiden Voyage

and so it begins...
I have been interested in blogging for some time, but allowed the potential daunting task of creating a blog of my own provide the main obstacle to realization. Even now I suspect this may be either a consuming activity that makes FaceBook fade into the distance of memory; or a soon-forgotten fad for myself.

So why begin to blog now, mid-way through my career, family life and ministry? Surely something published and available to all should at least attempt to yield value, and so should have some aim. Well, my target is humanity; from young adults scanning the horizon for direction to call their own, to the middle-aged faithful trying to soften their hardening hearts and coax emotion from their tired and dry eyes, and finally for those who have taken their place on the sidelines and risked blending into the scenery as those younger and more energetic hurry by, seemingly unaware of their presence.

I believe that the two basic elements of the name of this blog are also key elements for each of us to seek out and embrace in our own lives: Love and Truth. I also believe in absolute truth, which is why I refer to the Bible as "God's Word", and really mean it. My hope is that this corner of written content will provide a consistent diet of ideas, observations, and questions that honor and uphoald the virtues of both of these elements. I invite comments that question or challenge my writings if anyone feels that I have drifted from these simple goals.

...but will it continue?
From this point forward I hope to offer an entry here with regular frequency, and at least make their existence known through those basic means of publishing that I already possess. Here's to a future of sincere ponderings.
